#002 The Planning Issue
Hello, Hello.
It's our second instalment already! It appears the ball is rolling fast. How are you doing? I hope this letter meets you well and the woes of last week, you leave right there in the past. It's a fresh new week; beaming with blessings, opportunities and peace. It's okay to get your hopes up!
Is it just me or it still feels very much like a brand new year? Wasn't it just January 1st yesterday? It's crazy to think that 10 days have passed. I'm sure you have your goals all written down by now. As you've probably seen from the title, today we are talking about planning. We'll be doing this majorly in 2 parts.
1. How to make a good plan
2. What to do when your plans fail
It's great to set goals but do you have a plan in place, a system to carry your goals?
Here's how to make a good plan;
• Decide on what you want. Need I say more? You need to clear out an hour or two, do some soul searching and figure out what you really want from life and the season you're in right now.
• Think of the little things you can do daily to get you there. Think in terms of 24-hour increasments you can make in the right direction. Then write them down on paper and if possible paste them somewhere you can see them.
• Gauge your strength and plan to do less, then outdo yourself regularly. The plan is to do things well within your power. Set yourself up for success everytime and then sometimes, even do better that you've set yourself up for. This will encourage you to stick to the task. It's the consistency that counts.
• Let your plan have a time frame. Don't have plans that never die. Lol. Destinations always keep us at the journey. If your plan is infinite, you most likely will not stick to it. So I'd advice that you have daily goals, weekly goals and monthly goals. A year is a long time. Break all your grand goals into actionable plans that will allow you take action RIGHT NOW!
When your plans fail;
• Feel your feelings. Failure can be painful, so if your plans fail, it's okay to feel all your feelings.
• Get up, learn your lessons. You can't stay feeling your feelings though. You need to learn your lessons and move on. Don't wallow in sorrow. Now you know how it doesn't work, so get up!
• Try better. Try again. Try better. Never ever give up. Learn better ways to do stuff o, but please don't give up. Accept that failure is a part of life and God is able to turn every stumbling block into a stepping stone.
